Photos: Queeneth Awukam emerges Cross River Most Beautiful Girl

The pageant organized by an individual that continues to stand out is the prestigious Cross River Most Beautiful Girl, an event organized by former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Isabella Agbor Ayuk under her Belle’Sabel Grooming Agency (BGA) in collaboration with SilverBird Group.

After it debut in 2014 with her pioneer queen being Prosper Achu Ayuk, CRMBG has continued to soar in lips and bounds as the sole platform for the selection of the teaming beauties from Cross River for a true Cross River representation at the MBGN event; and it should not be forgotten in a hurry that being the first state pageant to be given consent by Silver Bird Group to craft its event after MBGN.

The event as produced by pageant specialist, Joe Esse considering the theme “The Year of The Goddess’’ did not only step up its game in every aspect of its organization but went further to consider four more main extra mouth watery crowns, a rare opportunity for more pageants to exploit the platform provided for them by CRMBG to impact on society and to soar to greater heights in their career; and so the four extra titles include CRMBG Culture and Heritage, CRMBG Tourism, CRMBG Face of Belle’Sabel and CRMBG Ambassador of the year.

For this year’s edition of CRMBG holding at the Cultural Centre Main Bowl, Calabar, the contestant representing Ikom Local Government Area, Queeneth Onyoduma Awukam, age 20, swept resounding victory over 17 other contestants representing the other local government areas of Cross River and she will represent Crossed River State in the MBGN pageant 2015.
Following the line-up of victory was pageant representing Yala Local Government Area, Mercy Lagele Egede, 20 who clinched 1st Runner-Up to earn CRMBG Tourism title for the year 2015 and will represent Cross River State at the Queen of Aso Nigeria 2015 pageant. Miss Abi, Mary Odere, 23 emerged 2nd Runner-Up to covet CRMBG Culture and Heritage alongside Miss Amity 2015; Miss Obubra, Blessing Unyin Ngbe, 20 carted CRMBG Ambassador; while Miss Akpabuyo, Stephanie Uta Garrick, 21 took home the best traditional costume to earn her the title of CRMBG Face of Belle’Sabel 2015.
Miss Obudu, Joy Onenu Ajie, 20 was awarded Miss Photogenic title.

The three statutory pet projects of CRMBG, namely, campaign against typhoid fever, malaria parasite, assisting the less privileged and otherwise vulnerable women and youths of society in the areas of small and medium enterprise (SME) development.

The event registered exclusive performances by Patoranking, Robert Ekpo and with a blue-carpet interview by entertainment researcher and writer, Obaji Akpet while the event proper was anchored by the award winning Silverbird TV personality, Anthony Abraham and talk show goddess, Diana-Mary Owan.

Personalities at the event include the speaker of Cross River House of Assembly (CRHA), Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebor; former Chief of staff to Cross River Government, Dr. Alex Ogbona; reigning Mr. Nigeria, Emmanuel Ikubese; ex-Miss Universe Ghana, Gifty Oforie; ex- MBGN Universe, Damiete Charles-Granville; former Miss Valentine Nigeria and CEO of Rekiato Fashion, Mariam Elisha; former Miss Akwa Ibom, Ema Ime Ntia; CEO Temptaton Fashion World, Amanda Esame Ikanni; CEO Zaga House Fashion, David Ofuka among others.

Never-before-seen pictures capture the lives of Peruvian nomads who are untouched by civilization

Never-before-seen photos have emerged of one of the last the last uncontacted Amazon tribes who the Peru government is trying to approach after they shot and killed two men in the chest with a bow and arrow.

For 600 years the Mashco Piro clan – also known as Cujareno people – have lived in the forest in Peru close to the border with Brazil and had no contact with the outside world.

But recently – threatened by 21st century logging, drugs cartels and tourism  – the rarely seen indigenous tribe have broken cover from the forest to raid villages for food, tools and weapons to hunt.

In May, Leonardo Perez, 20, was killed when he was shot with an arrow by tribe members who wanted his tools.

In 2011 local guide Shaco Flores (pictured above), a Matsigenka Indian, was murdered by the tribe.
Shaco had given them machetes, pots and pans for 20 years and had developed a good relationship with the clan.

But it is believed he was killed with an arrow to the heart after he tried to persuade them to settle and end to their nomadic hunter-gatherer life.

‘The Mashco Piro have been present in this area for as long as anyone can remember, and have in a way been enticed out of their forest home onto the riverbanks by missionaries and other missionised indigenous people,’ Rebecca Spooner for campaign group International Survival told MailOnline.
‘They have been given pots and land and machetes, and are now asking for more.’

The increasing contact between the Mashco Piro people and other indigenous communities is slowly peeling back the layers of secrecy that have shielded them from modern society.

Members of the tribe have been spotted a record 100 times already this year, Peru's deputy culture minister Patricia Balbuena said.

While others have even left the forest and now live among the neighbouring Yine Indians, who speak a similar language.

Communication

By and large, communication (from Latin commūnicāre, meaning "to share"[1]) is a purposeful activity of exchanging informationand meaning across space and time using various technical or natural means, whichever is available or preferred.
Communication requires a sender, a message, a medium and a recipient, although the receiver does not have to be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver understands the sender's message.[citation needed]
Discursive communication three primary steps:[2]
  • Thought: First, information exists in the mind of the sender. This can be a concept, idea, information, or feeling.
  • Encoding: Next, a message is sent to a receiver in words or other symbols.
  • Decoding: Finally, the receiver translates the words or symbols into a concept or information that a person can understand.
There are a range of verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. These include body languageeye contactsign language, haptic communication, and chronemics. Other examples are media content such as pictures, graphics, sound, and writing. TheConvention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities also defines the communication to include the display of text, Brailletactilecommunication, large print, accessible multimedia, as well as written and plain language, human-reader, augmentative and alternative modes, means and formats of communication, including accessible information and communication technology.[3]Feedback is a critical component of effective communication.

Jonathan Threatens To Voice No Confidence In INEC

With just less than three weeks to the 2015 presidential elections, the reality of losing may probably be dawning on the incumbent president, President Goodluck Jonathan who today, January 28, 2015, threatened to indicate his voice of no confidence in INEC.
SaharaReporters reports that the PDP presidential candidate in a news conference held today in Abuja was considering voicing a vote of no confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Evidence of Mr. Jonathan’s anxiety can be traced in a statement released by Femi Fani-Kayode, the director of media and publicity for the PDP presidential campaign organization.
Speaking in a news conference held in one of the houses owned in Asokoro, Abuja by Tony Anenih, the PDP board of trustees chairman, Mr. Fani-Kayode said the PDP was not happy the way INEC has been dealing with the issue of academic credentials of opposition candidate Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his words; “The electoral body must come clean on this matter; otherwise we will be compelled to pass a no-confidence vote in it,” the president’s publicist said.
“If INEC is complicit in the desperate and despicable attempt to extricate General Buhari, without compliance with the provisions of the law, from this lingering embarrassment, we will have no other choice than to harbor the suspicion and fear that the electoral body is already compromised and can lend itself to the ungodly agenda of truncating our victory when our candidate wins.”
